The problem with most stock alerts
A fixed threshold treats your best seller like your slowest one.
Shopify Flow can email you when inventory drops below a number, and for a small catalogue that is genuinely enough. What breaks as you grow is the number itself.
“12 left” means nothing on its own
Twelve units is three days of cover on one product and four months on another. A single threshold across a catalogue is wrong for almost every item in it.
Alert storms train you to ignore alerts
Most tools re-send on every stock movement. After a week of duplicates you write a filter rule, and then you miss the one that mattered.

Install and import
StockPilot reads your products, variants and locations through Shopify's API on install. No theme edits, no script tags, no effect on storefront speed.
Set the rule
Choose a fixed quantity, or days of cover computed from your real sales over the trailing weeks. Set one default and override it for the products that deserve their own.
Get one alert per item
An alert opens once and stays open until stock recovers. It resolves itself when you restock. Instant email, plus a digest that lists everything that needs attention.
The restock page is the part merchants keep. It lists what to order, suggests a quantity from your sales velocity and lead time, groups the lines by vendor, and exports to CSV so you can send it on as a purchase order.

Questions merchants actually ask
Can't Shopify Flow do this for free?
For a small catalogue, yes, and you should use it. A flow on the “inventory quantity changed” trigger with a condition on the quantity will email you and costs nothing.
Where it stops is the two things this app was built for: the threshold cannot adapt to how fast an item sells, and the flow re-fires on every adjustment rather than keeping one open alert per item. If neither of those bothers you, Flow is the right answer.
Does it slow down my storefront?
No. StockPilot adds nothing to your theme and no script to your storefront. It runs entirely in the Shopify admin and on our servers, and reads inventory through Shopify's API.
How does “days of cover” get calculated?
From your own order history: StockPilot keeps a daily sales figure per variant and divides the stock on hand by the recent average daily rate. A variant selling four a day with twenty in stock has five days of cover. Products with no recent sales fall back to the fixed-quantity rule.
What data do you read, and what do you keep?
Read-only access to products, inventory, locations and orders. We store inventory levels and a daily sales count per variant, which is what the thresholds need. We do not read or store customer personal data. Uninstalling deletes your shop's data.
